Wild Things

So out of craving for an art project I decided to do some pumpkin carving this year. I scoured the internet for some fun pumpkin templates and it ended up being a toss up between the monster Carol from “Where the Wild Things Are”, a Super Mario “Boo”, and portrait of Mr. Spock. The boo seemed a bit too easy, and i’m not really a Star Trek fan so i opted for the Wild Things. As I was transferring the image onto the pumpkin though only then did I realize what I was getting myself into (to transfer you take the image printed on a piece of paper placed on the pumpkin and puncture around the image with a thumbtack). Yes. I was not about to give up though! Soooo, over the course of 3 evenings (a couple hours the first and about an hour or so each for the others) I finally finished it up just in time for Halloween :)

Handed out candy for my first time this year (OK, what’s with the kids trick-or-treating without costumes? Seriously.) Then headed over the Casbah Lounge for some metal - Crux of Aux and Skull (my husband Mike plays in Crux). Fun times!

I love the pumpkin!!  Great work!  Yes, I get pissed when kids come to the door with little or no costume.  That’s just about the time i turn out the lights & shut ‘er down.

Fewer kids this year than last.
Great pictures of the gang at the Casbah…looks like good times.  I am so proud of our Mike!  ;)
